Epilepsy Action

Epilepsy Action is the UK’s leading epilepsy organisation and exists to improve the lives of everyone affected by the condition. As a member-led association, we are led by and represent people with epilepsy, their friends, families and healthcare professionals. Epilepsy can affect anyone at any age and from any walk of life, and globally over 50 million people have the condition. Epilepsy Action is here to support people every step of the way through living with the condition.

Additional Information
Epilepsy Action is the working name for British Epilepsy Association. Epilepsy Action was set up in 1950, and since then the Association has changed dramatically, but our aim is still the same - to raise awareness of epilepsy. More knowledge and understanding in the first half of the 20th century meant that attitudes began to improve. Life today is still difficult for many people with epilepsy, but the British Epilepsy Association’s achievements over the years mean that today things are much better than they might have been. We want high quality, accessible epilepsy healthcare services, so that people with epilepsy have the support they need to manage their condition. We want wider awareness and understanding of epilepsy, so that people living with the condition are treated with fairness and respect. For children affected by epilepsy see the main website for more information or go to http://kids.epilepsy.org.uk/ or ring the helpline on 08088 005050
