Kids Love Nature at Durlston

We aim to provide every child with a highly stimulating, caring educational environment: an environment within which each child is safe, happy and able to develop at their own pace, to his/her full potential. Nursery education for most children is their first step outside the family. Within Kids Love Nature Ltd we recognise the importance of this transition. Together, in partnership with parents we can lay the foundations for learning and nurture the development of children. Our core values are: *To give children space and time, *To connect children and adults to natural environments, *To provide synergy between the indoor and outdoor learning environments & *To observe, learn and evolve.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Local Offer

Support for children and young people with SEN and disabilities
At Kids Love Nature at Durlston we provide a welcoming environment that aims to teach through exploration in and around nature itself using the outdoors as a light, open air classroom. The Kindergarten work in partnership with each family, all of the local schools, the Kindergarten’s Early Years advisor, Health Visitors, Dorset County Council and specialist services including speech and language therapists. For children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities there are a number of possible additional funding options. Specialist resources to encourage development have be bought using such funding. There is one lead Special Educational Needs and Disability Coordinator (SENDCo) who is trained in Early Years Special Educational Needs and Disability, as well as, other trained and experienced members of staff. The SENDCo will regularly assess through individually plan using the Early Years Foundation Stage. Children attending speech and language therapy, targeted support by the setting in addition to education and health care plans will be monitored with the best outcomes for the child’s future as the end goal. Each child that attends the Kindergarten is continuously assessed through reports, online learning journals and planning. If any concerns are raised about a child’s educational and/or physical needs then early strategies are put into place, therefore ensuring individual progress with the best start to their time at the Kindergarten through to starting school. Each member of the team aim to provide a unique education and care to every child and to enable them to flourish through their natural experiences.
