Moors Valley Country Park Scavenger Hunt

Dorset Council’s Country Parks have worked together to create a free family Scavenger Hunt to keep the little ones busy this summer. You can choose do this at all of our sites or anywhere else in the countryside. Take a photo of the poster on your phone when you arrive or download it from our Facebook pages before you get there. Find all the pieces of the trail and get creative by making a natural picture using your treasures. Share your snaps with us on our facebook pages by using the hashtag '#DorsetCountryside'. The scavenger hunt is also taking place at Durlston Country Park, Avon Heath Country Park, Hardy's Birthplace and Thorncombe woods.

A map is available from the Visitor Centre showing all the routes is available for £1.
Additional Information

Just for fun - use any natural material you find to help make mini homes for our resident mice, hedgehogs and more. Listen to the music the countryside makes, grass blowing in the wind, puddle splashing and log drumming, try and copy all the noises. If you discover something new and are not sure what it is, take a picture and send it to us on Facebook, we would love to help. Please be responsible, give eachother plenty of space and respect the countryside. Contact for more details.

Accessibility

Wheelchair accessible
A conventional wheelchair is available to borrow with a deposit of £10. It can be booked in advance to avoid disappointment either online or telephone. A crossfire all-terrain manual wheelchair is also available but pre-booking recommended and £10 deposit required. This wheelchair is suitable for the dirt and gravel tracks around the park. It can be used by one person or with an assistant.

There are 13 disabled parking spaces in the first car park loop, near to the ice cream kiosk.
