Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Local Offer

Support for children and young people with SEN and disabilities
The practitioners at Jelly Babies Day Nursery will work closely with parents at all times. Firstly, during the settling in sessions, which we aim to get to know you and your child. Throughout your child's time with us practitioners will observe them in order to plan exciting activities that meet their needs and aid development, whilst having fun. ¦The setting has a Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator (Senco) who attends regular training. The training is open for all staff and often specific, based on the children attending the setting, for example, PEIC-D training, Practical Inclusion, Sign-a-long. Practitioners are Jelly Babies support children's development and care needs through a number of ways, including - Differentiation of activities to enable your child to access all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). - Monitor and adapt our own practice, strategies and provision, where practicable, to meet individual children's needs. - Access other professional services if required, after consultation with parents. The Practitioners at Jelly Babies understand the need for a holistic approach, and believe that a child learns best when they are happy. With this in mind, we as a general rule keep the same staff in each room, so that your child learns to explore their environment, get to know their peers and become familiar with other staff members from a secure base.
