Additional Information
Dorset wide service available all year, for all ages. Following referral, we may call you first for further information before sending an appointment date. At your first appointment we will invite other professionals involved if required. A full assessment will take place and appropriate provision will be made, either at this appointment or if required to be ordered, a 2nd appointment will be made. Our ‘out of hours’ service offers emergency repairs on a Saturday: 8am to midday. Answer machine available for all other out of hour’s times. Parents/carers can opt into our voucher scheme where a voucher can be provided to the value of an NHS provided wheelchair/buggy, allowing them to purchase an appropriate chair from the private market, topping up the voucher value themselves. Chair maintenance would however then be Parent/carer’s responsibility. NHS equipment is maintained free of charge and adjusted as a child grows or condition changes.
