Service Details

Additional Information
The service is free and confidential and covers West, Mid and North Dorset. Evening appointments can be offered but phone lines are not manned after 5pm. Information leaflets for services or patients can be requested by emailing dhc.west.admin.s2w@nhs.net. Our service base is located at Poundbury Industrial Estate in Dorchester although treatment can be delivered in a number of venues across the region. There is a second site at The Annexe, Weymouth Community Hospital, Melcombe Avenue, Weymouth, DT4 7TB. The service offers assessment and weekly treatment appointments that are conducted either face to face, over the telephone, through group work or using CCBT (Computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). Most of our assessments are conducted by our Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs). Our PWPs will explain how the sessions work, putting you at ease if worried. They’ll assess your needs and discuss different types of support we can provide. This will help you to make the right choice about what type of support you need. It also enables you to ask any questions you might have about the problems you are experiencing or the services that we provide.
