Action For M.E.
Chronic neurological condition myalgic encephalomyelitis (M.E.), sometimes diagnosed as chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS, or M.E./CFS), affects around 250,000 people in the UK, and 17 million worldwide. Action for M.E. provides information so that people with M.E. can make an informed judgement on the likely effectiveness of different approaches and any risks involved. Alongside providing information, support and advice to people to help improve their health and well-being, Action for M.E. works with professionals to enhance the care and support that people with M.E. receive and funds pilot research projects to advance knowledge of the illness. Action for M.E.’s mission is empowering people with M.E. to fulfil their potential and secure the care and support they need, while working towards a greater understanding of the illness and ultimately a cure.
