Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Local Offer

Support for children and young people with SEN and disabilities
I provide an all-inclusive service for children with SEND and this is my offer of support. I am a childminder, working closely together with another childminder throughout the week. We offer activities matched up with child's educational needs. Your child will be aided to gain independence, all depending on the individual child and their ability. I live near the beach, local parks, pre-school, primary and other schools and we visit places like the Sea Life Centre, the woods, the farm and Monkey World to widen their experience outside the home environment to enrich their learning. I will ensure your child is safe and secure both physically and emotionally, throughout the transition from home-based care to pre-school and later to full time education. I am trained in Safeguarding and Child Protection (Level 3), Paediatric First Aid, Role of the Senco and Practical Inclusion. I have 6 years of experience working in a local primary school with children with SEND and trained as an ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant). An Individual Learning Plan will be put in place where needed, reviewed on a regular basis with parents and further action will be implemented with any other professional support required.¦A child with SEND will be prepared the same way the other children will be prepared for school, following the EYFS framework. Your child will have the opportunity to visit their future school/nursery setting and I will endeavour to make the transition as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
