St Mary The Virgin Ce Va Primary School
At St Mary the Virgin CE Primary School we value every child as an individual and develop them both academically, socially and spiritually within a safe, happy and supportive environment. Together we give our children a place to grow their hopes and dreams for the future. We believe in working in partnership with you, as your child’s first educators, to achieve the very best for your child. We are based in Gillingham but children to travel to us from surrounding villages. We cater for children from 4 to 11 but also have an onsite governor led Nursery which takes children 2 to 4 years which is manager by the Reception Teachers. We have one class per year group from Reception to Year 6. We have very close links with St Mary the Virgin Church in Gillingham Town centre.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Local Offer
- Support for children and young people with SEN and disabilities
- We aim to provide every child/young person with a broad and balanced education based on the National Curriculum and in line with the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice (Sept 2014 - Department for Education). We are committed to a fully inclusive society where all children and young people are valued and included and where they have a secure sense of belonging. We have class based teaching assistants in all year groups, who are trained in various interventions to deliver to individuals or groups of children across the school where needed. They are directed by the class teacher and Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO). We work closely with many outside agencies (Speech and Language, Behaviour Support, School Health, CAMHS etc) to ensure individual children’s needs are met.
Some activities and family support services listed in our directory may be cancelled, postponed, or running in a different way due to coronavirus restrictions. Please contact providers to check for information about any changes.
